            After the storm in Ottawa on May 21, Excel came to our house on May 24 to install a patch on the roof where shingles blew off, take pictures for insurance, and to provide a quote for repair. We paid $395.50 for this service. By the weekend of June 4th, the patchwork started to separate and blow off the roof. We put calls into the office June 7th and June 9th and received no reply June 10th the last of the patchwork separated from the roof and blew off. On June 14th we made contact with a person at the office who said they would add a note to our file. Repeated attempts after this resulted in no contact or callback. At no point did we get a call back from Excel to address the poor patch work. We never received the pictures that were taken, nor did we get a roofing quote (both were promised). After weeks of our roof being left exposed, and with no realistic chance of Excel repairing their faulty workmanship, we engaged another contractor to patch our roof.

            Excel is an ex Excellent company to work with. Following a wind storm, they were on. our street and replaced 14 of my shingles and several neighbours around me. Following that, I called them to completely replace my roof two years later. They did an initial repair before replacing the roof a few weeks later following another storm and didn't charge me for the repair. They were prompt and did the work without any issues. They were clean and very friendly. I recommended them to my neighbours and anyone else.
